Terms of service

Effective date: September 2026. These Terms of Service govern your booking and rental of vehicles operated by CamperJimny (camperjimny.com). By placing a booking, you accept these Terms.

1. Booking and payment

Vehicle bookings are made through our website. The rental fee is charged at booking via Shopify Payments (Visa, Mastercard) or PayPal. A refundable security deposit applies to every rental: €250 for Suzuki Jimny, €400 for Ford Ranger, €500 for CamperBuzz. You choose how to leave it — pay it online at booking, or leave it as a pre-authorisation on your credit card at pickup. If you pay it online, no credit card is required at pickup and the deposit is refunded to the original payment method within five working days of the joint return inspection. If you leave a pre-authorisation, the hold is released after the same inspection. Bookings are confirmed by email within two hours during support hours (09:00–21:00 EEST). Minimum rental: two nights.

2. Driver requirements

The main driver and any additional driver must meet the following requirements at pickup:

Valid driving licence held for at least two years.
Minimum age 21 for Suzuki Jimny and Ford Ranger; minimum age 25 for CamperBuzz.
EU category B licences accepted as-is. Non-EU licences must be in Latin characters or accompanied by an International Driving Permit (IDP).
A valid identity document (ID card for EU residents, passport for non-EU).
A credit card in the main driver's name to hold the security deposit. Not required if you paid the security deposit online at booking.

One additional driver is included at no extra cost in every booking and must be present at pickup with their licence and ID.

3. Insurance and liability

Every booking includes comprehensive third-party liability insurance (mandatory under Greek law), collision damage waiver with a deductible, and theft cover with a deductible. The deductible amount depends on the vehicle and is shown in your booking summary. A Zero Excess upgrade can be purchased at pickup to reduce the collision and theft deductible to zero. Insurance covers Greek paved and unpaved road networks. Hard off-roading — rock crawling, deep mud, water crossings beyond wading depth, racing — is excluded and is your liability. 24/7 roadside assistance is included across mainland Greece and the major islands.

4. Pickup and return

Vehicles are handed over in person at one of our two bases near Athens — Agios Stefanos or Marathon — or delivered to Athens International Airport for an additional fee. Service hours are 10:00 to 20:00 daily. The walk-through takes about 40 minutes for first-time guests, 20 minutes for returning guests. Vehicles are returned at the same base, at the same time of day, with the same fuel level as at pickup. A joint return inspection is conducted before the deposit is released or refunded.

5. Vehicle use

Vehicles may only be driven by drivers listed on the rental agreement. Smoking, pets without prior agreement, and use for commercial passenger transport are not permitted. Vehicles may be taken on ferries within Greece on request; cross-border travel requires a written supplement. Travel to active conflict zones, military areas, or routes flagged as off-limits by Greek authorities is prohibited.

6. Damage and missing items

Damage or missing items identified at return are deducted from the security deposit, documented with photos and a written summary sent to you within 24 hours of return. Where the deposit was paid online, only the remaining balance is refunded.
