A HikeWave × CamperJimny × Overland N Explore trip. Three days on the wild side of Evia: forest tracks, hiking, two nights in roof top tents and cooking outdoors.
When and where
- Friday 13 November 2026, 11:00 to Sunday 15 November 2026, 18:30
- 3 days, 2 nights
- Route: Athens → Steni → the Kotylaia mountains, central Evia.
- Meeting points: the CamperJimny base in Marathon, where you can leave your car for the duration of the trip, or Vourkou Park in Chalkida. If you are coming from elsewhere, you can join the group directly at Steni.
The itinerary
Day 1. Off-road through the protected Steni Aesthetic Forest and up into the Kotylaia mountains. Camp is set up in the afternoon and dinner is cooked on site, and the first night is spent in the roof top tents under a full sky of stars.
Day 2. A morning hike in the forest, and Dean Poulopoulos’s seminar. In the afternoon, off-road between Xirovouni and Skotini towards the Setta forest, where the second camp is made.
Day 3. Leaving Setta in the morning for a final off-road section, coffee in the village, and back to Athens.
The seminar
Dean Poulopoulos of Overland N Explore is with us for the trip. On the Saturday he runs two sessions: one on what overlanding actually is and the basics of off-road driving, and one on responsible driving off the tarmac and on protecting the natural and cultural landscape — built on the principles of the American organisation Tread Lightly!, which Dean trained with.

It does not stay theoretical. On the off-road sections that follow, all of it gets put to the test.

- With a roof top tent from us — €250 per person. Fully booked You bring your own vehicle and we supply the roof top tent and the camping equipment.
- With your own vehicle and equipment — €200 per person. Fully booked You come fully self-sufficient.
- Suzuki Jimny + roof top tent — price for 2 people: €600. Fully booked The vehicle comes from CamperJimny with a roof top tent and camping equipment.
- Ford Ranger + roof top tent — price for 4 people: €1,000. Fully booked The vehicle comes from CamperJimny with a roof top tent and camping equipment.
Everything above was all-inclusive apart from fuel and tolls.
What to bring
Everything you need for the hiking and the nights out — we bring the rest.
- A small 15–20 litre daypack
- Hiking boots
- Trousers, a T-shirt, thermal base layers (top and bottom)
- A light windproof and waterproof jacket
- A fleece or a heavy jumper
- Winter socks
- Gloves, a warm hat and a balaclava
- Sunglasses, toilet paper
- A flask, snacks and drinks
- A sleeping bag
